[ she tilts her head. ]

Well... yeah. As long as she wasn't abandoned in the long run, but I guess if they're upfront about it and people still don't believe them, what can you do?

[ whoa, no she has to have mad respect for her too. ] What, like... to make her a god? And she turned him down?

[ ... ]

That's a very impressive lady, right there. [ THAT ONE. ]

I don't know. It's all related to you, isn't it? If you were happy to talk about it, I'm happy listening.

That's still something. Poseidon must've been really fond of her, then. [ like. super fond. wow. ] Good for her though, sticking to what she wanted.

[ awww.... nico your old crush... ]

Oh, I wouldn't worry too much. I don't know much I count as "mortal" in the tradition sense anyway, if you want a loophole. But I guess it sounds like.... just circumstance. Humans don't have that kind of threat, so they don't worry about it. Or have to think about it. Although -- surely they're at risk from monsters too...? Even if they're not their favourite target.

So people just... die to something they can't see or understand, and it's just a "whoops" situation? That sucks. [ ... ] Imagine if you had goggles or something that people could wear to see these things with... but then you'd have to get them to wear it...

[ hmmmmmmmmm

she's distracted and does not answer the question. ]

[ shhhhh ]

This is important. I need to figure this one out.

Contact lenses? That might work. Pewter could probably rig a contact lens to ‘see the unseeable’ or some nerdy thing like that…

[ lol ]

Pewter! He’s a tech guy. Pretty good one, given some of the stuff he’s made over the years.

Technically I am.

[ something about the way she says 'technically' though. she does not elaborate. ]

Pewter's good at what he does. He made some... choices last year, that could've and did get him into big trouble. But when you're the only person good enough to do what you do, there are more than enough strings to pull.

He's been very well-behaved since.

[ she just looks like she’s having fun. ]

I think it’s more… there’s some pretty important machines and technology around the place. And it would be bad if they broke. It’s not like there’s anyone else who can fix them — although maybe after everything that went down they’ll think about giving him an apprentice.

[ … ]

Although vetting one and signing all the NDAs would be a pain in the ass.

We do general police work as well? But often if we're involved the case is a bit complicated, and requires some things I can't talk about.

Think of it like a secret group? But one sanctioned by the government.

There are some things it's better to keep quiet about. I'm not gonna pretend there's nothing shady about where I work, but it comes with the territory.

It has its reasons.
