[ he gives her a curious look. but if she doesn't want to say, then...maybe he shouldn't push. ]
No matter what, we need to focus on what to do going forward. Team powers are a secret and that's going to really mess things up if people start using them to kill each other and we won't have a clue. I'm still thinking of the motivation of what would cause people to act this time. At least Argalia we knew was just a jerk. But why Yae Miko? And why Satan? And better question, why break into a closed building to kill someone? It's not like we don't have plenty of other places.
I don’t know how to reconcile the outcome and what it means overall, with the fact that this week hurt Ryuki so much. It goes against pretty much all of what I’m meant to do, and— I wish it wasn’t so stupid, this whole set up, so we could’ve focused on what happened to Satan instead.
[ that’s really all she’s willing to say. maybe the outcome of focusing on what happened to satan would’ve been worse, but they don’t know so who can say? ]
The fact they told us was interesting though. That was probably the same person who provided the note in the bento box — I don’t think they’d out a power like that, especially when we were able to logically narrow it down to being either a Goat or a Rabbit power based on the victims. And it’s not something Goats can do, I can tell you that much.
The whole set-up is designed so that we hurt each other. We already knew that. I wish we had more than nine hours, too. That'd probably help so we didn't waste time chasing things in circles before coming up with an answer that isn't satisfactory.
[ but he nods. ] I think so, too. We still aren't supposed to tell people our team powers, so maybe they have special permission? I don't know how they would know though.
Yeah, well. We know how that went for us. It was almost like people were deflecting from both cases and it just ended up messy and confusing because of it.
[ le sigh. ]
Someone who got intel on what happened? Maybe revealing a power without revealing the team's a bit different? We can put together context clues, but it's not like saying "The Mole is a power from Rabbit's team and it does this", it's only giving us a part of the whole picture
I suppose to be fair, at least two of those people in the room are murderers. I wouldn't be surprised if they were deflecting purposefully.
It's a loophole probably, yeah. It's a smart way to do it, though I wonder if anyone would have realized it was Rabbit's if Temenos hadn't spoken up. Then again, some people may carry on thinking it's a wonderball power and not a team power. There must be some reason they can only tell us one part of one crime at a time.
Obviously. Aside from that though — there’s only so far you can deflect alone if you’re backed into a corner.
[ … ]
A wonderball power would’ve been my first choice, but I haven’t actually seen any like that. And I’ve been collecting as many of those cards as I can. They’re effectiveness ranges a lot too — one of them can make someone forget faces for 24 hours, and then another can make someone’s tongue hurt for an hour. That’s not quite on the level of “be invisible on murder night”.
[ or just in general, but the emphasis of having that power on that night isn’t lost on her. ]
I've been buying a couple of wonderballs a week just to see what's in them, and they're all different degrees of useful. I haven't used any of the ones I've bought, but they're definitely not to the degree of what the Mole is. But with that being said, it makes me wonder what else Rabbit's team can do. It leads us right back to nobody knows what teams are capable of and can make solving a murder ten times harder. We're going in blind.
… I’d say it’s all connected to what kind of person your team leader is. Again, I’m not telling you anything concrete, but you’d look at the list of powers we have, and then at Goat, and not be surprised by any of them.
I don’t know Rabbit well, but if they do have a power that could make people invisible, it wouldn’t exactly surprise me from the little I do know. [ also if anyone here has love arrows, i’m pointing at team bunny. ]
Oh, I'm not surprised by any of the ones we have for Phoenix either. That part is less confusing. It's more that I don't know Rabbit that well and also invisibility is kind of a huge jump and not something I'd expect.
[ he frowns a little again. ]
Have you switched your team power at all? I know Amazoom lets you.
I’d ask Temenos a bit about them, but he’s so shifty he’d probably just limbo under my question and run off. [ it’s said with fondness though. that’s such a shifty little fucker. she likes that one. ] Axel might be willing to tell me— if he hangs out with Rabbit much. I know that’s not always the case for people and their team leaders.
[ she shakes her head ]
No. Mine’s too useful to want to swap. Not that the others aren’t, but out of the three, I can get the most use out of mine.
Yes I've gotten that impression of him as well. [ he does not mind temenos, but he can at least acknowledge this happens. ] I've never actually spoken to Axel so I wouldn't be able to tell. It's worth a try though, no?
[ anything they can do... ]
...that makes sense. I've thought of switching mine because they're all useful for specific things but haven't yet. It'd be easier if we could use all three, but why would they ever let things be easier for us?
[ she likes the man but she’s also like man i could not really trust you to answer without slithering away. ]
Who else… Kogitsunemaru? I haven’t spoken to him much though. I can see if Axel would be willing to answer though.
Yeah. Imagine? You’d have to really fast off the mark getting it changed, or hope one of your teammates has something that could help or has one of the other useful ones.
He came to see us in jail but we haven't talked that much either. I will leave that to you.
[ he just. huffs in annoyance. ]
I at least know what all of my teammates have, unless one of them switched without telling me. Which...I guess I should ask. We don't really talk that much about that kind of stuff until we have to. But Sigrun has stuff to talk to us about, I guess, so maybe I'll do another check-in when we do.
I imagine if it's anything like the rest of us, three of you had an individual one and somebody else doubled up. If you can compare with Albedo and Ace, that might still answer what Satan potentially had. Maybe.
Right, it makes sense there was a duplicate. There’s one that I think is more useful that others though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we all defaulted to that eventually.
[ although all of them are fun… ]
But like I said — they do all seem very Goat like.
The longer I think about Phoenix's the less I'm surprised. But that could just be because I know them better than the rest of the leaders. Some of them are still a little hard to talk to and read.
[ there's a little smile that says he's not saying shit, actually. ]
I kind of leave it up to Will to talk to all of the leaders and figure stuff out that way. I have a few I like to talk to, but he's still better at it. It works to my benefit, so it's possible he might have some guesses, too.
That's a word for it. [ antisocial is another word. ] I find it easier to talk to Phoenix, Snake and Rabbit mostly. Fox, too, for a different reason. I don't have anything against the others, I'm just trying to figure out the best approach sometimes.
[ tiger and goat seem sad, mouse is so energetic, and ox he is still unsure what to think. ]
Mouse is pretty easy to get along with. They're just... happy. But they have a good heart. And Goat's, Goat. I just push them around a lot and they put up with it, but they care well enough.
[ ... ]
I don't know Snake and Rabbit, really. Same for Ox.
[ yeah optimistic people are the bane of his existence (no.) ]
No offense but I think you'd probably push them around a lot no matter what their personality was like. [ just saying. ]
Snake and Rabbit are both good for talking about some of the more serious topics I want to discuss, usually. Even if Rabbit's prone to making fun of people, too.
