...probably because people like Reigen don't know how much they actually help. I think Ace is like that, too. They do a lot and they know what to say without realizing it, but then they think they have to do stuff themselves and the same feelings don't apply to them.

But more importantly, they know they don't totally understand and they don't pretend to. They just do their best with what they have after a while.

...at first, I wasn't sure how much I could tell him. Because I was scared it'd be too much, or he wouldn't understand or want to understand. Like maybe if I said more than I should he'd think of me differently and things would be weird again. [ ... ] It was Reigen's suggestion to keep the blinds open when we're in the penthouse. He'd suggested the door, too, but I didn't think that was fair. He didn't entirely know everything, but he still wanted to offer advice to try and help. I think that's why it's so annoying he thinks this whole thing was only going to be his problem.
