[ likewise, usually he's very anti-touch, but he's been acclimating himself and getting more used to it with strangers when he's realized it helps. maybe that's just been the thing. the two of them teaching each other how to handle strangers and learning to trust someone won't hurt them all over again.

It's not going to be like last week where it was self-defense gone wrong. Not with that set-up. And not with Whisper. There's no way I could ever believe she'd be the one to strike first.

Or maybe she knew something someone else didn't want spreading around. Like this was just a method of silencing her. [ ...he hates that option. ] I would also love to believe there isn't anyone cowardly enough to stoop as low as taking out someone "weaker" than them just because they could, but I can't confidently say that's true.
