I still don't know if we're supposed to believe the competition's real. It sounds like a brand new thing that's only happening because we arrived, but at the same time everything's been set up for us already.
And only the winning team. [ which like. no. he's kind of really annoyed about that part, and for a moment he seems hesitant on if he wants to ask ace this next question. ] Do you believe them? Or do you think they're just saying it to get us to play along?
I don't know. It's not exactly something most people are willing to take a chance on, but they weren't super consistent about what'd happen to the rest of the teams either.
I didn't ask. [ and he should have, but he had other focuses. ] There are a lot of loopholes I'm sure they didn't account for. Like what happens if multiple teams tie for first by the time of the festival. Or if people are from the same world but two different teams. All of this sounds like it was thrown together the minute we arrived here while simultaneously being planned just for us.
I tried to listen in on conversations. [ but also he was annoyed so it was hard to ] I don't think they even said how they were deciding who'd be the winning team. The talk of how we were gonna compete was pretty vague.
Some of us are planning to talk to the leaders again tomorrow when they aren't stuck trying to answer all of our questions all at once. See if they stick to the same story or if we can learn more from them. I don't know how well that's going to go, but something doesn't sound right. I'd like to know sooner than later.
I guess I could try talking to 'em again... Though to be honest, I kind of wanted to see what would happen if I tried to beat the answers out of them during that whole talk, so maybe it's not the best idea.
I'm not really a people person either, so Will's taking care of that part for us. [ just. outright saying it. whatever. ] I'm going to talk to Phoenix since I'm going to have to anyway, and he's taking the other seven.
Sure, sure. I guess I could try some of the other guys too, but they'd probably have a higher chance of keeping information from people not on their "team", right?
That's what we're going to try and find out. Will brought up the idea first, how it'd be interesting to see how all of them handle the competition aspect of talking to people not on their own teams. Maybe they'll have a higher chance, but maybe they'll slip up.
Or at least see if they'll elaborate on something else. [ yeah britt's mistake was thinking that ii'd be the only braincell but she forgot to take into account nico being antisocial with authority figures he's getting to know. ]
...Will's good at that sort of thing. I'm not worried about him getting information from them.

Having experienced both before, yes, I'd say this is preferable.
