That is a very long and complicated story. But the summary of it really is people wanting to overthrow those currently in power and create a new world for them to rule themselves. Sometimes it's about revenge. Sometimes it's about thinking they could do better. Sometimes it's both.
In a sense, yes. But the option wasn't better. And the ones trying to revolutionize the world and overthrow its current rulers had no plans for the rest of humanity.
Like I said, long story. And definitely not one I think I can tell right now. But the point was only that they thought their change was better. People set in their ways can rarely change themselves.
I guess that's true. [ but he can sense nico doesn't want to talk about it more. partially because nico stated it outright. so he moves on; ] There's a Revolutionary group back home, but I've never really looked into what they do. Government hates those guys even more than pirates.
Sorta. I know something about their leader. [ a little vague. ] I can't say I haven't been ready to fight the world myself, too. But I dunno. It's just not for me.
Yeah? Glad to hear it. People should follow their dreams. [ even if your dream is simply getting an answer to one question. he places the puck back and sends it again ] No matter how crazy it is.
I meant as an answer! [ hits it right back. to the SIDE for more bouncy ] I don't know what the situation is, so maybe my answer's too simple for you. But that's just the way I feel about things. You don't have to stick to what you were doing just because it used to be what you wanted.
[ he kind of lunges forward to strike the puck and zig-zag it back to ace. ]
I don't think it's a bad way to think. [ even if it's not necessarily for him. ] I guess it just depends if you feel like it's giving up or if it's an improvement.
[ he is not short he doesn't have to lunge to hit ]
Well, that's why I said I didn't know the situation. I don't think having a different dream is bad, but settling for something else because you think you can't have what you want--that's different.
I kind of think the only thing holding anyone back from following their dreams are the chains they've put around their heart. If you think it's impossible, of course it's never gonna happen.
[ again, this sort of hits different and so ace scores another point. he fishes the puck out... ]
I think for some people those chains are always going to be there, so maybe it's about working around them and figuring out how to loosen things. If we're going with your metaphor.

No, I mean literally. The destruction of the world and everyone in it.

[ THEY LIVE IN THIS WORLD??? ]

So that means your feelings are more ambivalent about them? Since you don't know much about them.

...you don't have to tell me, exactly, but do you at least know what exactly you want?

[ well. nico's scoring there because ace hesitates-- he sort of laughs weakly when nico scores ]
Aw, man. [ ... he takes out the puck from the goal, spinning it around in his hand ] Yeah. I know what I want. Do you?

I'm working on it. Or at least I have a better idea. Getting there used to feel impossible, but...lately it seems like there's a chance.

What about if something else comes up? Do you try to follow that, or your original dream?

ace gets a point as the puck goes in the hole because nico's just staring at him kind of like :unamused: ]

Sorry, is that too simple?
no subject
What makes you say it's something simple? [ picks up the puck and volleys it back to ace's side. ]

...there isn't really a situation. I was sort of thinking in general is all. [ he says, deciding not to explain how that is close to a situation. ]
