[ it was sort of a trick question because he hasn't really mentioned percy too much. not for any real purpose. it's just that...percy hasn't really been important here, yet. ]
Percy's another demigod like us. Son of Poseidon...he's the god of the seas, so a lot of Percy's power ties into his hydrokinesis and other forms of water and liquids. He's one of the most powerful of us and...[ he waves a hand as if to say "it's not important." ] Anyway, a little while ago Percy was kidnapped from our camp and had all of his memories tampered with so he couldn't remember anything about his former life. He knew his name but he didn't remember he was a Greek demigod or why he had his abilities or anything. At the same time, Jason also was kidnapped from Camp Jupiter and dropped off elsewhere so that he'd make his way to Camp Half-Blood with Piper and Leo. He didn't remember much about his former life either. And for a while, they were both blocked from their abilities until they went through training again and learned how to tap back into what was in their genetics. Eventually, they both realized it was because Hera forced them to swap so that we could finish bridging the gap between camps. Percy's...an idiot but he's brave and he's loyal and that's all Hera needed in order for her to decide to completely meddle with several months of his life. Jason's, too.
My point is, there are circumstances that could allow something that big to happen where it completely changes our make-up as people, and only by breaking that connection or getting whoever to undo it are we gonna get our regular powers back. It could seriously be as simple as "we felt like it and we didn't make it complicated to remove your powers."
She just... switched them around for no reason? [ GODS ARE FUCKIN WEIRD? ] To be honest, there's probably a Devil Fruit somewhere that can do something like that. [ there is but ace has never met law. sorry ace. ] So you're right that it could be that simple. With everything else they can do, just finding an off switch seems unlikely, but maybe it is just... something one person is controlling.
No, there was a whole elaborate reason but I don't really want to go into the history of the war against Gaea right now. [ he just sounds exhausted but at least he's honest. ] But never underestimate a god's pettiness either, just in general.
I've been kind of assuming there's someone somewhere watching us and everything we're up to. Maybe hidden in City Hall, and that's why we can't go in still.
Which is weird, isn't it? What's the point of having them if they aren't going to be used when we need them most? I've been thinking of checking on them before Thursday nights just to make sure they haven't been tampered with.
I hadn't thought about that. Like a timer? It would make sense why there isn't any footage at all through the whole night but they look perfectly functional at a glance. But if there's a way for people to be awake--[ for murder. ]--then there should be a way around that.
I mean, someone was apparently awake Thursday night to leave a note at the konbini. How do we know someone else isn't responsible for something like that?

... Maybe if someone activated them manually during the night, but then that requires being awake anyway.
