[ vane does in fact startle him, thanks. he jumps slightly at the sight of the plate but he takes it more on instinct than anything as he looks up at him. he's sitting in a chair by one of the windows in the living room, but he had been looking outside and unaware. ]
Thanks. [ he says first of all because he's a polite boy (sometimes), but then he shakes his head. ] I've sat in worse places for longer, so...surprisingly not bad. If you ignore the reason we were there and the part we couldn't use any of our powers to even try to break ourselves out.
[ for a second he looks pretty taken aback by "so I've heard", and then he realizes vane is talking about all of them being arrested last week so he relaxes again. right. that. what if he just picks at a piece of fruit and chews on it while vane brings up a lot of good points. ]
It's not fair, and I don't think any of us regret trying. [ first of all. ] ...we didn't think anything would happen and we weren't sure if telling too many people would put all of us at a greater risk. I brought Will because he's a healer and he was on standby the whole time in case something went wrong.
[ i mean that was also an afterthought, he really just went "hey new date night activity, let's do a jailbreak." but regardless. ]
But I understand. We're going to be smarter moving forward.
Yeah, we had no idea that would happen before. I wonder if there's a way to disable that from the outside, too. [ he says, as if he's considering going back to the jail and testing it. ]
If it's not a physical device somehow, it's likely some other power we haven't heard of. The police here seem like they have no idea what to do with people with powers so they could have easily commissioned someone. If we had any idea what it looked like...
[ they could've, like, broken it. ]
It does make you wonder if it's something similar to whatever made all of us fall asleep that night.
w1 ( monday )
Wherever he may be relaxing, Vane might startle him be handing a plate with a sandwich and assortment of fruits. ]
How was sitting in jail for a day?

[ He crosses his arms, releasing a sigh. ]
I get why you guys did that. I donโt blame you, either, because all of thatโฆ this โ itโs not fair.
But next time you should at least let a few more people know. โCause what if you were there longer than that? What if one of you got hurt?

Yeah, especially if it apparently just zaps powers away.
I mean with a city full of heroes I guess it makes sense, but that would mean they're using something to do that... right?
