[Hans is mostly contemplating the reconstruction of the konbini as well, though it looks like it's winding down by now -- they've got other options and restaurants and sundry, certainly, but there's something to be said for the kon in convenience.
Nico's remark makes him cackle, though -- let's be real, he's about as adjacent to normal as a certain tiny toilet ghost is to pacifism.]
[ yes since it is destroyed i guess they are outside. this sucks. ]
First of all, we had two people turn up dead Friday. What about that doesn't say worse to you? [ wry. but also. ] ...did you see the note the other three got after the heist was completed, actually?
[Not that he minds the fresh air, but he really should have stocked up on snack foods. The grocery just ain't quite the same when it comes to quick bites.]
Nyahihi... An' more places destroyed, but just the one guy in jail fer now. [and it'll probably stay the one guy, judging by how things are going; but also] One killer figurin' they're scot-free now if Argalia ain't blowin' smoke, but it ain't turned into a total brawl.
[Like, the worst-case scenario is probably just a battle royale. Is that really out of the question. After shaking his head to himself for a moment:]
I ain't seen the note, but I reckon it's got somethin' like ours?
I think the assumption a lot of us have is Chiemi took out Norma before Argalia found her. He was cursed to lie. She must have been hiding something.
[ which...sucks. he does not like thinking of the circumstances, but so it goes. but he reaches into his pocket not long after. ]
You may as well see it yourself. It's close to ours, but a little different. [ he clicks it on, and he flips to the camera roll so hans can see a picture of a piece of paper! it says:
These heroes are unable to return to the worlds they call home while they have yet to win their competition. If a team loses, all those within the team, present and future, those worlds they hail from will come under the light of the moon. Those worlds will be forever changed with the loss of the heroes hailing from them. There is nothing better than a hero under distress.
By winning they will be putting their companions here at risk. By losing, their homes will be rewritten to be completely different, erasing their place within it. A dire situation indeed. A benefit no matter the outcome. ]
That'd tie it up nice an' neat, wouldn't it? She weren't plannin' to go down, fer one thing, but can't say I knew her enough to tell whether she was tryin' to shut him up or trip him up.
[Could be both! Sometimes you can hit two overly fluffy scythe user problems with one stone??? Hans is not like, the most enthusiastic mystery pursuer but maybe he's also just a gossip hunter. You never know.
He'll look over the extra bit of paper (digital) for a moment, frowning a little.]
Meeow... I noticed the moon was all funny but seems like the citizens 'round here haven't got a clue. What kinda horror moon goes out an' invades other worlds, anyway? [sorry2say they do not really have much in the way of alien tales where he comes from, so like what the fuck; he thinks things over for a moment, glancing at the sky, but at least the moon doesn't have a horror face] Sounds like some kinda meowghty complicated ritual they're runnin' here but I couldn't tell ya what for. Anybody out there that could confirm what's goin' on here?
I thought I knew better, but...obviously not. [ but he patiently waits for hans to read before he takes the phone back and shrugs. ]
The most I've heard about the moon is that the whole thing came crashing down about a month before we got here, right around the time of that villain attack. But the idea that the moon might be even more sentient than we thought is a little...[ ah. he is also busy thinking what the fuck, really. ]
I think we're going to have to ask the leaders. Phoenix told me to keep an eye out for papers like these, but it's debatable how much they know, too. But even then they might be able to point us in the right direction of where to look for answers next.
I'd be a lot meowre surprised if she was the only one with some skeletons up in her closet.
[Heheheh Halloween skeletons. General hauntings aside, though, he cackles quietly to himself about the moon a little bit.]
Tried proddin' around fer rumors about it, but ain't found anybody yet with the proper guts-- [he probably means insanity but it's fine] --who's seen it themselves yet. Ain't so surprisin' most of 'em are going along with this new thing either, if they're just scared o' everything.
I've seen all meownner o' things out there with their own mind but the moon's a whole new one. [what about the hairballs, those are normal apparently?? or he's just biased] If them leaders already know somethin' that'd make things easier, but if they were the ones fightin' ya'd think they'd be the experts.
'Less there's some meowmory stuff goin' on, I suppose.
[ he's nodding along to all of that and doesn't seem to comment. it's a fair enough thought and assumption. the moon being sentient continues to haunt him. ]
...you think that's a possibility, too? About the memory stuff. I mean yes, anything's possible but somehow I haven't put that much thought into it.
w1 sunday
Are you surprised things have gotten worse already? [ that's a nice normal thing to say, hi. ]
