Bat o' darkness, then. [he was totally picturing some sort of weird raven thing at first but he will also accept this, grinning] Guess sometimes these powers can run to what's useful an' interesting.
[Thematic powers! Like, his is technically thematic too but is it useful??? Guess we'll see tomorrow! ☆]
Less times than ya might expect! Ya learn to lay low an' gather informeowtion an' all that good stuff right quick or yer not goin' to be around for long. 'Course, it's not like I could kill every guard or uniform I ran into, either. Clients'd get mad, cities'd get mad, countries'd get mad... [waving a hand, paw formation] Didn't have heroes gettin' mad in my cards, though.
Sure, we'll go with that. [ he kind of laughs, but it's fine. ]
I didn't expect anything, really, I was just curious considering how things have turned out. I figured you had to be somewhat good at your job after what happened in the casino. [ is this a compliment... ] But this still turned out a little different. This place isn't exactly great at playing fair.
[He nyahihis along, about as good-natured as that weird-ass laugh can get. It turns into an actual laugh when the casino gets brought up.]
Meeow, a few times there I thought I was goin' to have to do things the old-fashioned way, all them traps an' bunny guards an' things ain't anything I'm used to. Plus sneakin' places and taking out things ain't usually my gig.
[He is still not a cat burglar but he really sounds like he's fondly reminiscing on the whole disastrous setup. Perhaps he is the only one.]
Ain't no fairness when it comes to meowtters o' life and death. Can't say I'm usually out there fightin' paperwork, so this suits me just fine.
[ the thing about it is that he's actually like ??? and then it turns into genuine curiosity the longer hans offers information. ]
You do know that's only opening yourself up to questions about what your usual gigs are, even though you've kind of already given an impression.
[ and then his face grows a little more serious. ]
...you aren't wrong about that though. Death doesn't have mercy. Seems like a pretty drastic measure just to avoid solving murders, you know. [ ... ] But if that helps you right now then okay.
