[this is so valid i love nico for crawling under the bed too. goblins.

she rolls over to lay on her stomach and peers at him. her eyes faintly glow in the dark.]

Yeah. Probably more than we'd think. Info spreads fast, you know? Even without the internet.

We don't even know if it wasn't another accident. Mika and Rocket just woke up on their own, they didn't - plan it, you know?

[...] But even if it did, like, it was two of us.

[their little jailbreak crew. it feels pointed to her, even if it probably wasn't.]

... Yeah.

[hm. she turns into a cat, and scoots closer to him, curling up against his shoulder.]

I don't know, I - I think a lot of people who I talked to about it thought we were doing a good thing. So I don't know why they'd go after us. [...] I just wonder if like, those muahaha types that wrote the notes put out a hit on us. Made some people some deals they couldn't refuse, you know?

[oh that's the worst thing in the world actually! she didn't think about that!!!

she gives him a bit of an alarmed look.]

... Oh. [:aaaaaa:] What do we even do if that's how it is?

[she gently kneads at his jacket as he talks, trying to think this through.]

So... what, then? We're supposed to pay attention to the "villains" that did this, or.

[she has so many complicated feelings about the word villain. it's almost funny, that she got dragged here, made to deal with it so fiercely, so quickly.

he's a firm believer in the idea of justice, and so is she, in a sense - her justice is maybe a little more violent or selfish, but... there's a squishy part of her that doesn't want that. she doesn't want people to die. not really. there's a part of her that aches because this is just a reflection of the very long life she's lived.

she closes her eyes, and rests her head against his shoulder.]

If it was on purpose, we have a reason to be angry. [she says, quietly.] The worst part is waiting. That's all we can do is just - wait until we know more, and I kinda feel like a pod person saying that, but.

Last week I was so mad. And then I wasn't.
