fine. come into the dorm as far as you can and i can let you up through the elevator

[ she may be waiting a bit, but he will venture down to go let her into the elevator. the first floor upon entering contains a spacious seating area with couches in bright aquamarine. there's floor to ceiling windows and plants around the room's tables and walls. there are also books everywhere. that's what she'll see before he arrives in the elevator to retrieve her, and he silently invites her in to head up.

but as they arrive to the second floor, tama will see the living room is filled with sleek furniture. there are subtle and artistic elements, potted plants flowers and artwork all over the walls that are a perfect complement to the wood tones through the space.

with every dorm she goes to the more she wants to talk to goat and ask them why their aesthetic is the way it is. ]

Well. Phoenix didn’t mind me bursting into their dorm uninvited, so maybe Fox will give you a free pass?

[ it's probably for the best he went to fetch her so he doesn't have to answer that text, if only because he's not even sure how to reply. the concept of people he's only known for a few weeks caring about him enough to bother checking is still hit and miss.

so onward they go. they can have a seat on a couch if she'd like. ]

I think Fox probably knows better than to comment on it since I'd still show up anyway. [ he should talk to fox again, he thinks, but there's never enough time for everything. ] What were you doing at Phoenix's?

Being nosy. Ace and I had both heard a few things about the other dorm’s style compared to ours and wanted to see.

They were pretty patient with us, considering we just kinda barged in.

Of course Ace was involved. [ tiny bit fond. ] Phoenix is really patient about things. They're probably the easiest to talk to. Or at least I understand them a lot better than any of the others.

[ he says, when he clearly has not returned back to his own dorm since he got back. ]

To be fair to him, we both decided to bre—barge in basically at the same time. [ she is literally the law. stop breaking into dorms, tama. ] But, yeah? Of course. [ it was crime ]

Most of them are pretty easy to talk to— although I haven’t spoken to Tiger, or much to Snake. But Phoenix feels a lot more chill. That, or they just have so many grandparent vibes I don’t really know what to do with them.

[ no he's busy and also i was giving the mods a break stop. ]

Unsurprising and a convenient excuse. [ he. kind of laughs at the idea of phoenix being a grandparent even if the laugh itself sounds a little awkward and off. ]

Tiger's pretty nice. They could probably use a few friends or people to talk to them. I don't think they're used to it. And I haven't talked to Snake yet. I was going to try but...stuff happened. [ like cyoa. he seems to latch onto the phoenix topic though. ]

Phoenix is a good listener is what it is. They have a way of trapping you in a conversation before you even realize what you're actually talking about and saying more than you mean to because it doesn't feel like they're judging it. [ that is. too deep of a read. but it's fine. ]

Oh. I should try and talk to them then. There's so many more of us here now, so it'd suck if they didn't get a little more used to talking to us all. [ oh nico has been phoenix cornered. ] There's things I haven't told them, but felt like I wanted to? So I get what you mean.

Somehow I feel like you and Goat have different ideas of pride, Tama.

[ but he nods. yeah! talk to tiger and try to be nice to them. he seems to support this idea. ]

That's sort of what I said. We're all going after the same thing, so it makes some sense to try and talk to people more even if it's hard. [ also yeah. he has. he sort of pauses to that though and takes all of that into consideration, sinking a little into the cushions of the couch. ]

I think I would have been hunting on my own anyway. I don't like waiting for answers to come to me. I just didn't think I'd be taken somewhere else to find them.

That sounds like a them problem. I think we're a good team.

Mm. Same. I'm used to sticking my nose into things with work anyway. There's possibly more I can do, but right now I'm a little hampered. Phoenix outright told me I can't get something I need right now... but hopefully it won't take too long for other places to open up again.

I've been asking them to get my old powers back instead of what I have and keep getting told no. So I think we're just going to have to work with what we have. [ for now. ] What were you hoping for?

If you're sure. I'm not really good with that kind of stuff so I wouldn't even know what you're looking for to begin with.

There are so many of you who aren’t good with tech. [ pls ] I guess you and Phoenix can chat about the joys of dial-up or something?

They probably don't, but we do have wi-fi where I'm from. And smartphones. [ they have all of the modern tech of the 2020s, he just personally doesn't use it.

also it's very nice of tama to truly derail so hard that it's getting him out of his own head. he would appreciate that if he had a single clue that it was happening instead of just going with it. ]

If they own one and it's not dangerous for them to do so, sure. But they're kind of honing beacons for monsters, so we try to avoid them.

I’m pretty sure they’re beacons for advertising spyware and government tracking too, but that doesn’t stop people.

It's mostly kept out of camp for that reason, and I really don't feel like making it easier for a monster to find its next demigod to-go meal, you know? But there's always exceptions.

When you say camp, do you mean like... a camp site? [ because you know what doesn't sound like a safe place for kids? a campsite. ]

You could say that? But more like a training camp. [ but he kind of grins. ] A camp site, Tama?

That's what most people would think of when you hear camp! Like camping!
