It's not a place she goes into often, really -- she's not all that into practicing with a static target, given she's far beyond 'the basics' with both kinds of weapons she uses, so...the only reason why she went in here is because she wanted a break.
And she gets there, sitting against the wall near the doors. For a moment she stares at them and says aloud, her voice echoing in the mostly empty room]
Sure wish things were as simple as it was before.
[When Jolyne and she had gone around stealing doors who'd have thought in the next few days she'd be gone three weeks, then she'd find one of his team members was wrecked to hell and back, then two people die in pretty horrible circumstances, then Sigrun herself is a viable suspect in one of those crimes and also a lot of people she cares about are suspects too, then an innocent one is voted for, and finally she had to watch someone she cares about execute Hans and get hurt in the process. Good grief these days were hell]
[ the thing about it is, he probably shouldn't be training when he's still pretty wrecked. and he knows what'll happen if will finds out he's even really tempted by the idea, but it doesn't mean he doesn't seek out the training room.
he's about to think better of it when he hears a voice and he pokes his head into the room to glance at her. ]
...I'm not sure this place was ever meant to be simple. If that's what you mean. [ they were all kidnapped, stripped of their items and abilities and forced into teams. that was a mess from day one as far as he's concerned. ]
[When Sigrun sees Nico for a brief moment she considers pretending she didn't say that aloud, and like everything was fine...but after a moment she relaxes, deciding to not bother with pretending]
I know, but at least before I could feel like I had some idea of what to do. I kinda hit a wall now.

I think you're not the only one. Everybody's really starting to feel it now. We're getting lost and frustrated that this keeps happening without answers. [ he sounds pretty annoyed himself, too. ]
I wish we didn't have two cases to solve. Maybe then we could have come up with a better solution. I mean the better case would be not killing people at all, but I'm losing hope on that one.
Do you think the festival even matters? [ this is a sincere question. ] Like...what if we're really just running right into a trap by playing with these rules leading up to it?
It probably doesn't but it's an end date. I never really understood why some people in Dalsnes count the days until their units' expeditions end but now I'm beginning to get it.
[Sigrun, to keep her hands busy, adjusts her gloves like she's getting ready to spring into some sort of action time]
Besides, whatever happens there happens. Gotta deal with it and get through that anyway, trap or not.
[Mostly because what option is there other than at the very least making an effort to win. Still, despite what is at stake, attacking or killing the other teams is a line she doesn't want to cross]
It's still possible that we can end this early. It's more about understanding the rules and what they actually want from us. Nobody's really explained the festival and why it's happening. Maybe that's something else I'll ask the leaders myself.

But on the other hand, the situation here is getting out of hand and there's no time for dilly-dallying. If an opportunity appears, there's not going to be any time for really thinking too much, or else the opportunity might vanish.
Even if the situation became a matter of life or death, Sigrun? That's what I mean here. That's the trap we're currently in, and I don't anticipate this getting much better.

...I already was involved in something like that. While I was gone I almost was made to kill Axel.
Saya and I didn't kill him but I was ready to do it in her place if we hadn't made everything go in another direction.
[She had a knife and all hidden away but ready, having tackled Axel and captured him. Fortunately the CYOA ended without having to murder Axel, but...yeah, she was ready]
Yeah, I would if I knew for sure that's what it'd take.
[ he's not sure that's the same thing, but he figures it's close enough and finds that to be a satisfactory sort of answer. ]
These adventures they keep sending people on really like to plant new ideas in our heads and keep us distracted from what's happening. [ that's just a comment. ] But okay. I'd like to avoid that possibility, but...it's good to know. I'd rather we all be on the same page knowing what it might come to instead of being caught by surprise later.
